The Gospel- We are Sinners

We are Sinners

We are living in times today where Eastern Philosophy and New Age thinking seems to be taken over the worlds mindset. It’s being promoted here in the US not as a religion, but as a way of life. As a way of becoming a god. We see many becoming enlightened, or achieving total peace within. We see it being taught in our schools through Yoga practices, under the guise of regulating kids emotions, enhancing their academic performance, achieving fewer behavioral problems, reducing anxiety and tension in our kids, etc. We see our entertainers, movie stars, singers, directors, pretty much anyone with influence, promoting this way of thinking. So, what is essentially the message that this religion is promoting? That man can be good without God!

Jesus says in Mark 10:18 ” Why do you call me good? No one is good but God”. and also in Romans 3:23, Paul says that “we have all sinned and fallen short from the glory of God.”

The problem with mankind is that we believe that we are inherently good. We believe the lie Satan told Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, that we can be like God and decide for ourselves, what is good and bad. But Jesus says that not one person in this whole earth is good. Not one person in this whole earth can ever be acceptable in God’s eyes, why? Because all of us have fallen short from the standard that God gave mankind to live by, in order to come into a relationship with Him. But men keep taken it upon themselves to worship a god they have created in their own mind. One that has no standard, and loves them just the way they are. They want to believe that they are good and that since both “evil and good are within us”, it is our duty to bring balance. Because of the pride-fullness of their hearts, they refuse to accept that God has the authority over all things and he decides, how He would like his created beings to worship Him, and what is acceptable and not acceptable in His sight.

Make no mistake that men and women who practice any religion, are trying to get God’s attention and approval. I believe many are sincere in their search, for a genuine relationship with God. They just want it their way and not the way God has already provided for us. Through His son Jesus.

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Romans 3:22

Jesus makes us right with God! Not our works or dead religion. The core of all religion, is that you have to do something in order to be pleasing to your god. But the core of the Gospel, is that not one of us can be made right with God apart from faith in Jesus Christ. He is the good news to the world! Our faith in Him and the finished work on the cross is the bridge that connects us back to God. See the good news is not, man now qualifies by good works to make it into heaven. The good news testifies, that we cannot save ourselves. That we needed Jesus to die for us on the cross and resurrect for our salvation. Not because we were good, but because of His love towards us.

The bible says that, “when we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.  Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.  But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.  For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.  So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

Romans 5:6-11

Friends, I pray that this simple message has blessed you and encouraged you to see yourself the way God sees you, as a sinner! See, the beauty of the Gospel is that, we are never to far gone to be saved. Salvation is for all those who put their trust in Jesus, and it’s that simple. If you would like to do this today please pray this prayer with me.

God I recognize that I have sinned, please forgive me and cleanse me. From now on I put my trust in Jesus, and ask that you fill me with your spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer in faith, welcome to the family of God! I pray that you will find a bible believing church, where you can be discipled and grow in your relationship with our Father. Please let me know how I can help with this. Be blessed.

If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness

1 John 1:9

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God

Psalms 51:17
