Philippians 1:6 (ESV) ” And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
Wanna know a secret? I am not perfect! There I said it. I make mistakes, I fail, I stumble, and I also sin. But isn’t it refreshing and encouraging to know that God is devoted to making sure, we make it to the finish line? Of course, it is! It takes the burden and guilt off our shoulders, once we truly realize that no matter what we have done, God continues to work with us, once we have repented of course. Repentance is key.
In Psalms, 103:10 says ” He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.” Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we fail God on a daily basis, in many different ways. Repentance is not a one time act; it is something all believers do continually. Not because sin has dominion over us (Romans 6:14), but because we all sin, “for all have sinned and fall short from the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).Those who say that they have not sinned, is a liar and is deceived and the truth is not in them (1 John 1:8 Emphasized).
You see, as we grow into maturity and the more light we receive from the Holy Spirit, we come to realize that what was not sinful for us 6 months ago, now is a sin. Why? Because our eyes have been opened and will continue to be opened, as we continue on this journey. Thos is why we must confess and repent from our “known” sin, and also ask God for forgiveness from our hidden sin, Psalm 19:12 “Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults”.
When we fail or disobey God, and we will, guilt all of a sudden start to creep up on us and if we let it, it will hinder us or maybe even paralyze us completely from our walk and intimacy with our Lord. But you and I must realize that ” There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, those who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” Romans 12:1-2. When you feel the Holy Spirit convict you of sin, that is a good sign that you are walking in the Spirit. It means you are able to listen to God’s voice and hopefully, follow and obey, John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
You see brothers and sisters, God remembers that we are dust, yet He shows compassion to those who fear Him, (Psalms 103:14), “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Whatever you have done believe me, that God can and will use it for good, because it will be a testimony for others to see, how God is continually conforming you into the image of His son Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).
Lift your head up and DO NOT let the devil bring you down, because God is not done with you yet, there is still hope for those that are alive, Ecc 9:4.
