Finding Satisfaction in God

“God, you are my God. I search for you. I thirst for you
like someone in a dry, empty land where there is no water.
I have seen you in the Temple and have seen your strength and glory.
Because your love is better than life, I will praise you.
I will praise you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands in prayer to your name.
I will be satisfied as if I had eaten the best foods. My lips will sing, and my mouth will praise you.” Psalms 63:1-5

Satisfaction is not something we wait for. It’s not something we wish would happen. It’s not something you could buy at the store or even get it through someone else. No! The true satisfaction for our souls is found in God. But how do we get it? The psalmist declared with his voice and action, that he was going to be satisfied in God as if he had eaten the best foods!

We find satisfaction in God when we determine in our hearts that He and He alone, will be the one that meets our expectations. We find satisfaction in God when we seek Him to satisfy our many longings.

Many believers are walking around unsatisfied with their Christian walk. They turn to idols and empty pursuits, only to be left dry, frustrated and wanting. But oh that they would taste and see that the Lord is Good! That they will direct their hearts to search for God until He is found! That we will behold His face in righteousness and be satisfied when we awake! May we break ties with the worldly desires in our hearts, until we find contentment in God alone!

So how do we find satisfaction in God? The answer is easy, run after God and make Him the one desire, that you allow your heart to be satisfied with!
