This Spiritual Journey, is Slow Progress.

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining brighter and brighter till the full light of day. Proverbs 4:18

Walking the path of righteousness is never easy- it’s courageous! Understand that daily we are called to pick up our cross and following Jesus. Think of it as treading through the forest with a machete in hand always prepared and ready to combat, tear down, and destroy the obstacles that are in your path. We are warriors! We gain new grounds everyday with our perseverance and diligence to never give up, and though we may get distracted at times, our internal compass and map, always lead us back unto the correct path.

This journey is slow progress!

As believers, we can get all wound up if we don’t overcome a sin fast enough, or get discouraged when we are not where we would like to be spiritually, but let me encourage you to keep believing. To keep on fighting and submitting yourself to the Lord. The bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:6 ” I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. We all have a desire to grow in the likeness of Christ, and this is a good thing. Matter of fact, it’s a great thing! It shows that we are forsaking the things of this world and wholeheartedly seeking after God. But we must realize that God is the one who makes us grow, and it doesn’t depend on whether we get things right all the time or not, it matters if we are consistent. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”. Galatians 6:9. Our consistency in persevering in this path is key to a fruitful, prosperous, fulfilled life with our Lord, Jesus Christ. This Journey was made, so that we can grow in our relationship with God, through Christ. It was made so that we can enjoy sweet fellowship with our heavenly father here on earth, and shine brighter and brighter as we sanctify Him in our hearts.

Zeal without knowledge is not good!

Think of this journey like this, learning a new skill or trade. You can be all excited and ready to start working, but unless you take the time to learn foundations, and basic skills needed to succeed, you will end up getting hurt, hence delaying the progress you would have made had you taken the time to gain the experience and knowledge needed to advance. What I’m getting at is the you should take your time and enjoy the journey. We are told that if we seek Him with our whole heart we will find Him, and that is a promise that no amount of anxiousness can get us to faster. Only slow progress, always moving towards perfection.

Conclusion

I want to encourage the heart of those who have made this walk more difficult than it has to be. Those who feel they have to achieve a certain level of spirituality by such time, or feel that they should have a ministry up and going already. Be at peace family! The main thing in our life should be to worship God daily, and the rest will fall into place. Spiritual growth takes time, and it is in God Himself to grant it! I’ll leave you with this encouraging verse. Stay Blessed!

So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

1 Corinthians 3:7
