Darkness

What is Darkness

DarknessStrong’s G655: of ignorance respecting divine things and human duties, and the accompanying ungodliness and immorality, together with their consequent misery in hell. In short, a person walking in darkness means they are lacking the knowledge or education of God and of their moral obligations as a human being.

When the bible talks about the last days and people walking in darkness. I use to think that this was referring to people who just didn’t know God. What I have come to learn is that “believers” can also walk in darkness. We can walk in darkness when we do not put into action the words of God, and neglect our moral obligation towards humankind (The Beatitudes-Matthew 5).

Why is it Necessary to Understand Darkness?

Now more than ever, believers must make a conscience effort and be a diligent student of the word in order to understand what we are up against. There has been a shift in the spiritual realm. As the world continues to transition towards The New World Order, we are seeing increased darkness in the form of lawlessness (riots), embraced sexual confusion, perversion (pedophilia), and the acceptance of witchcraft. When a world embraces such things, it opens the doors to more demonic attacks and strongholds. We need to come out of the belief that the only thing we are called to do is sit there and wait to be raptured, while the world continues to embrace lies. We have to come out of the numbness this world is causing for many believers, and start to position ourselves for the coming of Jesus Christ, or The Great Tribulation (which ever you believe).

Our duty as children of The Most High is to know where we stand and what our beliefs are. We should be taking account of our spiritual life daily and making sure we are in the faith. Sadly, because we are in such darkness and it is getting hard to find a church, that has not been contaminated by Apostolic teachings, many have given up or are dying spiritually. But… I want to encourage my brothers and sisters not to lose hope, these are the times Jesus and the Apostles spoke to us about. He told us that people will be deceived and will go out and deceived others, but we are called to continue in the teachings of Jesus (not your Pastor or Leaders, IF they are not following the teaching of Jesus).

while evil men and imposters go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in the things you have learned and firmly believed, since you know from whom you have learned them

2 Timothy 3:13-14

And with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Am I Walking in Darkness?

You will know them by their fruits! Lets break down the 1st part of the definition for darkness. It is “of ignorance respecting divine things“. What is ignorance? In our modern dictionary it is defined as a lack of education, awareness, and information about a subject. In the word of God, ignorance is defined as walking in error, wandering, going astray, in want of knowledge. When we combine these two definition, it is safe to say that a person walking in darkness, is lacking the full knowledge of who God is! How do I know if I am lacking knowledge of who God is? You do not submit to the words of Jesus. Our obedience is key to keep us from being deceived.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 14:23

Another way to test this, is if you believe that following Jesus only means being nice and doing good things.}The Pharisees and Sadducees succeeded in “doing” many things in the name of God, but were blind bats. I have been around many believers that are sweet, kind, read the word, and do many good acts of kindness towards others, but sadly know nothing about Gods holiness or separation from the world! Likewise, I’ve been around believers, who are strict and abide by rules that only change the outside of the man, and again know nothing about inner purity and the true Holiness of God. Jesus didn’t save us to be kind and good, he saved us to be holy and a useful vessel in His kingdom. The Apostles did not get persecuted because they were kind and helped the poor, ANYBODY can do that! They were persecuted for being bold in their convictions and living for Christ.

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death

Revelations 12:11

Being a believer is more than attending bible meetings, prayers and church activities! Are you triumphing over the enemy? Is your standard of living, offending enemies of God or do they identify with you. What part of the enemy is in you that he can claim. Can we be chosen by God among other believers, as Job was? Are we striving for inner purity? These are difficult questions we must ask ourselves, if we want to be counted as faithful. If we walk as cowards (in two waters; fearful), we will be cast out from the presence of God one day. Take into account your life and walk with God and see if you are in the faith. Are you obeying Gods commands?

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death

Revelations 21:8

Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me”

John 1:1-3

Listen, not everybody is going to be saved! In fact those that say they are saved will one day be a persecutor of the brethren. Those that will be saved have been faithful and have forsaken this world. They are faithful in diligently obeying Jesus’s commandment. The bible commands us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Many take this to believe and find comfort in, if they go to church, dress a certain way, live a certain way, pray and fast on the regular and read the bible, then we are in the faith. The Devil is a liar! Many of what these modern day churches teach are doctrines of demons! They teach half-truths about God and keep you from knowing who He really is by keeping us docile and complacent to their form of Christianity. If you are serious about your relationship with The Most High, and want to walk in the light, get alone with God. Tune out the different doctrines you have heard and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to all truths. Allow the Holy Spirt to cleanse you from false and tainted teachings and start over. Turn off social media, do not listen to any preachers, no matter how good they are, and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you his way. You will see, like many others before you, how far away from the truth a lot of us really are. Do not rush this process. Take your time and allow our Father to guide you.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

John 16:13

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Isaiah 30:21

I know this is a radical approach, but God will never chastise you for wanting to know Him! In fact, he encourages us to seek Him with our whole heart, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart Jeremiah 29:13“, and in order to do this, we must get alone with Him and wrestle with our flesh and allow the Spirit to confront us. Then follow His lead, no matter what others say as the Spirit will lead us unto the path of righteousness!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:18 19
